Sempurna - Andra & The Back Bone

Whispers: I got 27 people (including myself) going for white water river rafting in Sg Kampar this Sunday... Thanks for the support!

....................................................

Kau begitu sempurna
Dimataku kau begitu indah
Kau membuat diriku akan slalu memujimu

Disetiap langkahku
Kukan slalu memikirkan dirimu
Tak bisa kubayangkan hidupku tanpa cintamu

Janganlah kau tinggalkan diriku
Takkan mampu menghadapi semua
Hanya bersamamu ku akan bisa

Chorus:
Kau adalah darahku
Kau adalah jantungku
Kau adalah hidupku
Lengkapi diriku
Oh sayangku, kau begitu
Sempurna... Sempurna...

Kau genggam tanganku
Saat diriku lemah dan terjatuh
Kau bisikkan kata dan hapus semua sesalku

Janganlah kau tinggalkan diriku
Takkan mampu menghadapi semua
Hanya bersamamu ku akan bisa

Chorus:
Kau adalah darahku
Kau adalah jantungku
Kau adalah hidupku
Lengkapi diriku
Oh sayangku, kau begitu
Sempurna... Sempurna...

Kau genggam tanganku
Saat diriku lemah dan terjatuh
Kau bisikkan kata dan hapus semua sesalku

My Say: I am sure that many people would surprise seeing me featuring a Malay song here as I believe no one would believe that I listen to Malay song... But then again, everything has it's exception and this is one of them... Yes, I do listen to some Malay song but those that I really interested are those superbly created... My other favourite Malay song that I love is Generasiku by OAG...

Superman - Five For Fighting

Whispers: Funny that I believe that I got alot of topics to blog about but dunno why, it just couldn't be put in words...

..............................................

I can't stand to fly
I'm not that naive
I'm just out to find
The better part of me

I?m more than a bird, I'm more than a plane
More than some pretty face beside a train
It's not easy to be me

Wish that I could cry
Fall upon my knees
Find a way to lie
About a home I'll never see

It may sound absurd, but don't be naive
Even Heroes have the right to bleed
I may be disturbed, but won't you concede
Even Heroes have the right to dream
It's not easy to be me

Up, up and away, away from me
It's all right, You can all sleep sound tonight
I'm not crazy, or anything?

I can't stand to fly
I'm not that naive
Men weren't meant to ride
With clouds between their knees

I'm only a man in a silly red sheet
Digging for kryptonite on this one way street
Only a man in a funny red sheet
Looking for special things inside of me

It's not easy to be me.

My Say: As a superfan of the Man of Steel, this song actually give me the feel that the song makes Superman more human than ever...

Empty - The Click Five

Whispers: I realize that I have been posting really many post this year...

..................................................

Tried to take a picture
Of love
Didn't think I'd miss her
That much
I wanna fill this new frame
But it's Empty

Tried to write a letter
In ink
It's been getting better
I think
I've got a piece of paper
But it's Empty

It's Empty
Maybe we're trying
Trying to hard
Maybe we're torn apart
Maybe the timing
Is beating our hearts
We're Empty

And I even wonder
If we
Should be getting under
These sheets
We could lie in this bed
But it's Empty

It's Empty
Maybe we're trying
Trying too hard
Maybe we're torn apart
Maybe the timing
Is beating our hearts
We're Empty

Oh, oh.
Oh, oh.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
Oh, oh.
Oh, oh.

Maybe we're trying
Trying too hard
Maybe we're torn apart
Maybe the timing
Is beating our hearts
We're Empty
(Maybe we're trying)
(Trying to hard)
(Maybe we're torn apart)
We're Empty
(Maybe the timing)
(Is beating our hearts)
We're Empty

My say: I like this song, mainly for the music and how the lead sing the song... Will add more lyrics that I like soon...

Debate

Whispers: Playing Nox every night...

..........................................

A debate between two politicians in the Malaysia is almost unheard of until recently when the current Information Minister, Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek face off with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the de facto leader of PKR, in a live televised debate entitled "Today We Form the Government, Tomorrow the Fuel Prices Will Go Down". However, I was busy at the time of the debate and didnt managed to catch it on TV...

Anyway, I managed to watch the second debate between two politicians yesterday when the former Penang Chief Minister, Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon take on the current Penang Chief Minister, Mr Lim Guan Eng in The True Story Behind the Land Controversy in Penang debate organised by online media Agenda Daily at Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP).

I wont say much about whatever content there is in the debate because you can read it in the newspaper and Internet but I must say kudos for those who are willing to organize and participate in these type of debates.

I really hope that more and more debates can be organize as I believe these are the best time for Malaysian to see those good politicians in action and people would understand better what is really going on in the country.

After watching yesterday's debate, I have a few suggestions for the organizer (if you even come across this post of mine) that might make the debate better:
Increase the length of the debate - 1 hour is definitely not enough to get the a clearer picture of the issue at hand.
Provide an opportunity for the people to participate - people should be given a chance to ask the politician question in their mind, after all, the debate is to let the people see a clearer picture of the issue at hand.

To wrap up this post (I sound like I am in a debate pulak... hehe...), I want to point out that there was once a politician who condemned the need of a debate between politician as this is Malaysia, not US. Well, all I could see is that he is so wrong in his view and with yesterday's debate, I really hope that there would be more of it to come...

My final comment on that politician that gave the above comment is that this politician have no guts as I believe he understand perfectly well that if he is in one of the debate, he would have such a hard time that he actually believe all his friends in politics are just like him.

I know... I know... Many of you might not have the same view as me and you might not agree with what I have written here but I just want to express my view... :)

Real Professional vs Acting Like Professional

Whispers: Stuck in that place for more than 13 hours... Darn...

..............................................................

All type of people reside in this world. Most of them are very professional in doing their work but there would always be some that would try to act professionally. If you listen to these people after a while, you would understand what these people is trying to do. Most of the time, the things that come out from their mouth are useless and it is meant to take care of their a**.
Really want to do this to those useless people... Argh...

Sorry that I could say much about who are these people... Maybe, just maybe, in the future, I would reveal it to you...

Anyway, for those are really professional, I thank you and keep up the good work...

China Won Sabre Individual Gold

Whispers: Addicted to Smiling Proud Wanderer

.............................................

Up until now, I have not post anything about the Olympic Games except for the opening...

Now, here is a different story...

We all know that sport fencing has always been dominated by the western fencers. This is very true as the only other time that a non-Western fencer won an Olympic gold was 24 years ago... But yesterday, the chinese does it again...

Zhong Man, a 25 years old sabre fencer, defeated Nicolas Lopez from France to win the sabre individual gold...

For the whole story, read below...

By Xinhua Sportswriter Liu Jie

BEIJING, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Zhong Man stood proudly on the podium, becoming the first Chinese winning an Olympic fencing gold medal 24 years after the country's last crowning moment in Los Angeles Games.

The 25-year-old sabre fencer defeated Frenchman Nicolas Lopez 15-9 in the men's sabre individual event final at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

"Winning an Olympic gold only happened in my dream, but today my dream comes true!" said Zhong.

The match could hardly be an easy one for Zhong. In the final bout, it was the silver medalist Lopez who scored the first point, but he was caught up seconds later and overtaken quickly. The two tied at 4-4, then the Frenchman dominated the fight for a while, which dropped the Chinese audience into sheer silence.

Zhong managed to level the score at 6-6. He fell behind again, then made it 9-9. Cheers from the stands never stopped after this moment, as Zhong thrusted and slashed all the way on to 15-9, to the top podium and the realization of a long-awaited dream.

"I take today's competition as a good chance to learn from the world's fencing elites, so I was totally free from any pressure. I just tried my best to fence one bout after another, and then I completed my mission," he said at the press conference.

"I would like to dedicate this supreme honor to my French coach Chiristian Bauer, who brings the turning point to my life. He is the best sabre coach in the world," he said.

Foilst Luan Jujie won the unprecedented fencing gold medal for China 24 years ago. After that, China missed several chances for a fencing gold until Zhong's victory today. Luan, after her Olympic comeback performance representing Canada, said on Monday she really hoped there would be some Chinese could succeed her crown and recoup the long-awaited gold medal in fencing.

One day after, the historic mission was fulfilled by Zhong, who coincidentally came from the same eastern Jiangsu Province with Luan, and whose name was even not known by many people in the fencing circle.

Before Zhong became a fencer, he started his sports career as a mid-and-long distance runner. "I like playing basketball. Once when I was playing, a fencing coach was watching. After the game, he asked me whether I wanted to become a fencer, since my 190cm height was a big advantage. After thinking twice, I decided to transform into a fencer," he said.

He told reporters that his parents were not optmistic about his fencing career, but he himself kept going on.

Zhong's performance was hardly eye-catching before he won the Asian Championship title in Bangkok in 2008. "Zhong was pretty relaxed today, that's why he could thrive till the end," The French coach said. "Winners are those who can successfully handle the pressure."

Chiristian Bauer also attributed the success to the past two years of hard training. "Zhong has reached an outstanding, European level," said the Frenchman. His French rival also applauded him as the best fencer tonight.

Commenting on his teamates Wang Lei and Tan Xue's dissapointing performance in the Beijing Games, Zhong said they had mede their names, and were burdened with too much pressure, which is the main reason for their failure.

Even in earlier rounds, the "dark horse" has already surprised the home crowd by entering top eight, and made history by advancing to the semifinals. "The further I went, the more relaxed I became. Maybe I won the medal because I don't have so much pressure as some other people do," said the new champion, who watched TV soap opera Tuesday afternoon to relax himself.

"I clinched the gold when I was not given too much attention, which freed me from the unecessary pressure," he said.

Zhong's victory will certainly help popularize fencing sports in China as Zhong put it: "Fencing is not a popular sport in China where many people still have no idea of what fencing is. But my triumph today will help promote this sport in the country."

Disappointed... Frustrated...

Whispers: Final call for anyone interested in going for white water river rafting... RM155 per pax (including rental of safety jacket and helmet, insurance coverage, entrance fee, certificate and lunch). This is excluding the transportation to go to Gua Tempurung, where we are gonna meet with the rafting people...

..................................................

I am really, really disappointed with the so-called "coverage" of Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games done my TV1 (part of RTM)... Even though they one of the two official broadcaster of the event (the other being Astro), they actually do nothing more than some reports abit of highlights everyday.

With less than 5 hours of "reports" and 1 hours of "highlight" on one channel and a two hours reports on another channel (which I think show the same things) everyday, wont it be better to let other channel actually work on it...

For someone who does not use Astro's service (which I find overcharging its customers due to their monopoly of the business), it is really a frustrating experience... even more so as I am actually interested in games that dont have any Malaysian compete in it and never actually gather much fan in Malaysia. I am talking about the sport fencing event in the games which actually offer at least one gold everyday.

Really... I am really, really frustrated with RTM...

Even if it is a replay of the event, I believe many people would not mind watching it and those many dramas, shows and whatever that you are broadcasting on TV1 and TV2 are really out of the session... I also believe that these dramas, shows and whatever that you are broadcasting, does not have much viewer. In fact, it is really a waste of time and money to keep you running...

08.08.08

Whispers: A friend is moving to Singapore to work there next month...

........................................

To many people, today is really a very auspicious day. Today is the day when everyone is going to be Fatt, Fatt and Fatt for today's is 08.08.08.

Chinese love the number 8 because it is the most fortunate number of them all. So, what do people like to do on this date?

Some would register for their wedding on this date... Others would make today the opening day of their activities, e.g. Beijing 2008...

This is meant to be a short post as I want to have a post on this date only :)

Beijing 2008

Whispers: I have been under alot of pressure lately... Many things are happening and I just dont know how to cope with it while staying "normal" to the rest of the world. Really want a break... Really need a break... Luckily I am going for Thai massage later...

................................................

Beijing 2008 is just around the corner...

It would be celebrated from 8th August 2008 to 24th August 2008 and 10,500 athletes are expected to compete in 302 events in 28 sports.

Some of the sports that would be contested and would be closely watch by Malaysians are Aquatics (Diving, Swimming), archery, athletics, badminton, cycling, sailing, shooting, taekwondo and weightlifting.

If you want to know more about who is competing in which event, please click here for more information.

I would try to follow up closely on all this but apart from these sport, I would be watching fencing as well... For those who have known me long enough, you would surely know how involved I used to be in sport fencing. Even though I may not be playing sport fencing anymore, my love for the game never die off. In fact, I do hope that maybe one day, one day in the future that I would fence again... until then, I would just have to watch it in Olympics...

The other question that I would like to ask is whether any Malaysian athletes would be able to bring a gold medal back to Malaysia...

Well, I sure hope they could...

The Dark Knight vs The Joker

Whispers: I sold my recently acquired toy, the Samsung L100 digital camera I won in a lucky draw. It was with me for less than 2 weeks...

..................................................

I have not been into a cinema for a while until last Sunday, where I went with WL, LJ, GW and FC for The Dark Knight. There was so much hype about it and luckily, the movie didnt disappointed me...

I wont say much about the movie but I would like to mention that Heath Ledger really bring out the best of the Joker.

The psychopathic, mass murdering and schizophrenic clown with zero empathy is really in a class like no other... The Joker seems so real and the funny thing is that people seems to love him. I have to admit that I do feel connected to him in some ways...

It was funny though that even though he keep on calling Batman, Commissioner Gordon and many others a schemer while saying that he is the spontaneous type, the Joker himself is, in fact, the most brilliant schemer. I really admire him because of his superb detail planning to get what he want.

By the end of the movie, what I saw is that Batman and Joker is really like Ying and Yang.

Really love the movie and cant wait for the next one...
