Bank of Time

If you had a bank that credited your account each morning with $86,400, that carried over no balance from day to day, and allowed you to keep no cash in your account, and every evening cancelled whatever part of the amount you had failed to used during the day, what would you do? Draw out every cent, of course!

Well, you have such a bank and its name is “time”. Every morning it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Each night it rules off, as lost, whatever of this you failed to invest to good purpose. It carries over no balances. It allows no overdrafts. Each day it opens a new account with you. Each night it burns the records of the day. If you fail to use the day’s deposits the loss is yours. There is no drawing against the “tomorrow”. You must live, in the present – on today’s deposit. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness and success.

Bus Crash No More!!!

As what the Buddha said long time ago, life is suffering. And the worst type of suffering would be the lost of a love one.

Everyone must go through this suffering one way or another. As someone who has been through it more than once, it, in deed is a very bad experience...

One of the more recent tradegy that took place in Malaysia is the lost of life of Lee Nian Ning, the 21 years old intelligent go-getter girl in the hand of a reckless driver.

The worst thing that could happened is that this driver escape the accident with a broken right leg.

The only thing that the police says was that a statement would be taken after he recover from the injuries...

Does this mean that nothing is going to happen to him? Does this mean that it is okay for a driver to drive recklessly and if there is any accident that happens, no action will be taken on the driver? How many lives must be taken before the government/transportation provider start taking concrete action on this?

Wedding @ Penang

I was in Penang during the weekend for Teh and Ka Siang's wedding.

Yes, I went all the way there but luckily this time, I no need to go there alone. I managed to get a ride from Oi Kuen and James (her bf).

What I can say is that the customs of the people of the north is really different from the people of the centre. I don't know about you but it is really an eye opening experience...

The wedding dinner was on Saturday and I managed to meet with many friends. My ex-coursemates that was there were Chai Lim, Oi Kuen, Yih See, Mee Ling, Phui Kuan, Fui Pin, Lian and Wei Hock, not to mention Teh and Ka Siang. So, altogether, we have about 50% of our ex-coursemate there. It can be said as the biggest gathering of Environmental Science students since we graduated back in 2003.

Just let me highlight some of the funny differences that I have noticed when I was there...

  • The restaurant provided newspaper for every table.
  • They cut the cake first (Central people do it later).
  • The first and second "offering of wine" is done with the couple on the stage and all the attendee sitting (we stand from the very start and before the offering, all related parties will be onstage).
  • They sometimes serve ice-cream as dessert (yes, you read it right).

The official wedding ceremony took place the next day and we are part of the brothers and sisters.

Not good at explaining what happened, I will list the differences again here...

  • They have two wedding cars (yupe, they have 2 and we only have one. Don't ask me why they have two as my Penangites friends also dunno why...).
  • The parents sent the groom to the car (Central parent, as far as I know, only help wear the blazer and that is all).
  • The drivers really drove slowly to make sure that the videographer can record the journey at different location (Central drivers drive at top speed everytime and the videographer will record the journey from the car in front of the main car, I did that once).
  • Groom bring the bride out of the room first before kissing the bride (central grooms do everything in the room before coming out).
  • Bride and groom have special meal together before leaving the bride's place.
  • Bride have to help groom wear a flower decorative and so does the maid and best man.
  • Specially prepared meal at the groom's place with catherer there to help out (meals provided were done by relatives and close friends of the family).
  • The take pictures of the bride and groom with everyone else (central only do that with family members).
Pictures taken during the trip will be post here by the end of the week.

2008 New Year's Resolutions

What is your 2008 New Year's resolutions?

I got a few things in my mind now and really hope that I would be able to do it by the end of 2008:

  • Reduce 2 inches from my waist (reduced 1 inch in the second half of last year)
  • Reduce 3 kg from my weight (reduced 3 kg in the second half of last year but already add 1 kg since 1 January :P)
  • Upgrade to a dSLR (Olympus E-510 with twin kit lenses)
  • Fix the bump on the hood on my SLK (Super Little Kelisa)
  • Backpacking to Siem Reap (Angkor Wat) and Phnom Penh (wanna join me? tentatively in December 2008)
Will add some more if there is any.

Do you want to give me some suggestions? Feel free to give me a comment or two!

New High Everyday

Remember that I told you that the price for crude palm oil reached a new high the other day (over RM3000)? Well, the record has been broken almost everyday since then. Current price (as I am writing this post is about RM3220)

Why am I talking about this?

High price for crude palm oil => high price for crude palm kernel oil => high price for the products that I am selling => customers don't buy or only buy what is necessary for them only => less work for me => boring at office

I guess now you understand what this post is all about...

*sob* Jackpot *sob*

I did not win the Jackpot yesterday...

*sob* *sob*

Never mind, try again...

I guess I am lucky that I am finally back to my office where I can do my works (especially catching up with my paperworks) and also do some updating here and there...

So, what have you been doing since the start of the year?

Go Training @ Factory

Some of you should be thinking where the h*** am I as I have not been updating my blog for a while...

Fear not... I went for products training in SEO's factory for the past three day and have not have the access to internet since my birthday... Manage to come back to office for a day and I just want to update you la...

Training in the factory is basically b***** but managed to find something interesting to do...

What did I do?

Nothing illegal... Don't worry.

I was making soap bar... those soap that you used to used to wash your hand... Yes! I was making that and I am not bluffing... Take a look at part of the process and our (my colleague and I together) products...

It all started out with soap noddle (yes, you read it right) which actually is white colour chip (dont have the picture now, show you later). These soap noddles would be compress and added some colouring and fragrent to become something like this...

The compacted soap noddles would be mould into a long bar before it is being stamp using a predesign mould to become a normal soap bar.

Apart from the normal soap bar, we also created something out of the ordinary. I think it is better for me just to show you what we have made...

The normal soap bar and the huge soap cylinder that we have made...
