20 years

I have almost forgotten about it until this afternoon that you popped up the question...

W: hey, how long have we know each other alr?
A: 20 years
W: No wonder... come lets celebrate alr :P
A: How to celebrate???
W: Go somewhere to chill out
A: Haha... Hope can find that time
W: haha... me too

Who would have guess that we have known each other for 20 years already. It seems to me that it was just yesterday when I first got to know you. How time has pass us by and now, it has been 20 years since I got to know you.

I have known some others for more than 20 years but you are different. You have become my brother, my best friend, my partner-in-crime (for non-criminal related stuff like playing a joke on our pet sister) and my best helper.

Truly, it has been an amazing experience so far and I am sure that we have a lot longer way to go.

When Videogame meet Real Life

Looking at these photos brings me back to the time when the digital era was just started... Many of you may not know some of these figures but believe me when I say that they are a big hit back then... really!

The Mexican Fisherman

In a quiet Mexican fishing village, an American on vacation was watching a local fisherman unload his morning catch. The American, a successful professor at a prestigious US business school, couldn't resist giving the Mexican fisherman a little bit of free advice.

"Hey!" began the American. "Why are you finishing so early?"

"Since I have caught enough fish, Senor", replied the genial Mexican, "enough to feed my family and a little extra to sell. Now I will take some lunch with my wife and after a little siesta in the afternoon, I will play with my children. Then, after dinner, I will go to the cantina, drink a little tequila and play some guitar with my friends. It is enough for me, Senor."

"Listen to me, my friend." said the business professor. "If you stay out at sea until late afternoon, you will easily catch twice as much fish. You can sell the extra, save up the money, and in six months, maybe nine, you'll be able to buy a bigger and better boat and hire some crew. Then you'll be able to catch four times as many fish. Think of the extra money you will make! In another year or two, you will have the capital to buy second fishing boat and hire another crew. If you follow this business plan, in six or seven years you will be the proud owner of a large fishing fleet. Just imagine that! Then you should move your head office to Mexico office, or even to LA. After only three or four years in LA,you float your company on the stockmarket giving yourself, as CEO, aqa generous salary package with substantial share options. In a few more years - listen to this! - you initiate a company share buy-back scheme, which will make you a multi-millionaire! Guaranteed! I'm a well-known professor at a US business school. I know these things."

The Mexican fisherman listened thoughtfully at what the animated American had to say. When the professor had finished, the Mexican asked him, "But, Senor Professor, what will I do with so many millions of dollars?"

Surprisingly, the American professor hadn't thought the business plan through that far. So he quickly figured out what a person would do with a millions of dollars.

"Amigo! With all the dough, you can retire! Yeah! Retire for life. You can buy a little villa in a picturesque fishing village like this one, and purchase a small boat for going fishing in the morning. You can have lunch with your wife every day, and siesta afterwards with nothing to worry you. In the afternoon you can spend quality time with your kids anad, after dinner in the evening, play guitar with your friends in the cantina, drinking tequila. Yeah, with all that money, my friend, you can retire and take it easy."

"But, Senor Professor, I do all that already."

WHY DO WE BELIEVE THAT WE HAVE TO WORK SO HARD AND GET RICH FIRST, BEFORE WE CAN FIND CONTENTMENT?

Giant Camera - Samsung

This is not an actual video taken by an innocent person.... It is actually a viral video by Samsung itself to promote their products. Nevertheless, it is fun to look at how people react to it...

Copied from PetaPixel about something that you should realize when watching the video:

  • The video was posted by cr8yourworld, which looks like an account created specifically for this campaign by Samsung.
  • Can you imagine the lawsuits Samsung would face if this thing were actually real, and people started falling off the container while pressing the “shutter”?
  • There’s a square helicopter at the end
(From Petapixel here)
I do wish I would be able to come across a camera this big one day...

Chinese Hungry Ghost Month

Chinese believe that ghost would roam the earth during the 7th month of the lunar calender. It seems that many strange things would happen during this month of Hungry Ghost.

My family got one experience this year and I am going to share it with you here...

It actually happened to my sister two days ago when at night she came into the living room after her shower and join my mum to watch the TV.

While watching, she suddenly asked my mum if she got see something. My mum was dumbfold and she reply that she didnt see anything. My sister comment that she see something black "flying" outside the house and not believing her, she asked her if it is on the floor. Maybe it is a dog or a cat. But my sister's reply really give her a goosebump. She said that the flying black thing is high above the ground.

Not someone who is scared of paranormal, my sister concentrate her sight to look at what is that flying black thing.

It turn out that it is actually a monkey climbing up the tree to get some mango for dessert. The flying thing that my sister saw is actually the monkey's tail.

We had a good laugh at the event....

StarCraft 2: Banshee

One of the thing that amused me about StarCraft Series is those quote that each one of the different unit has. You would hear the usual quote when you click on the unit when you play the game. But if you click on the unit repeatly, you will be amused by what these units got to say.

As there are so many unit in the game, I would have to feature them here one by one. I wont post those regular quotes (when they were being trained, selected, when attacked, move order or attack order. Instead, only those that they would says when they are repeatedly being selected would be showcased here. Again, if you are interested to know the rest, you can check out websites that have them all together.

Nevertheless, I would showcase them here one by one.... Enjoy!

Banshee
  • "We ain't got all day."
  • "I'm burning fuel here, smart guy."
  • "This is the 'Give-em-hell-o-copter'!"
  • "What is with you monkeys in command?"
  • "Thanks for the...props."
  • "You can only tie the record for low flight."
  • "In space, everyone can hear me scream... (pause) ...cause I'm the Banshee, get it?"
  • "Today's in-flight movie will be Ghost Academy: The Musical, starring Zac Efron and Corbin Green."
  • "Please turn off all cell phones, gauss rifles, EMPs, psionic waveform emitters, and plasma-based perdition flamethrowers. Thanks, and have a great flight!"
  • "What's the vector, Victor? Give me the clearance, Clarence."
  • "Looks like I picked the wrong day to quit StimPacks..."
  • "Anyone else know how to fly this thing? No? I'll wing it..."

StarCraft 2

I was a fan of the original game back in the old days and I, just like every other fan of them, have been waiting for it for buddha-know-how-long... In the end, it finally came out...
Hell, it is about time...

And it didnt disappoint me or any one that is playing this game... In fact, I am loving it...

Chiling Waterfall

Chiling Waterfall is one of the nice waterfall that you find not far away from KL. It is located in Kuala Kubu Bharu, on the way up to Fraser's Hill.

The waterfall is part of a fish sanctuary and to get to the waterfall, you would need to trek for about 90 minutes from the Ranger's office.

The waterfall is not too much to shout about (maybe becoz I have seen something better but for Selangor's standard, it is good enough) but the journey to the waterfall is an unforgettable feat. I am not sure if they purposely do it as it is but to reach the waterfall, one would need to cross the river 6 times.

Depending on the water level, it could be as high as the waist of a full grown man. And the force of the river flow may be too strong that one would need rope to move across.

Nevertheless, the trek to the waterfall is not that hard. Mostly flat land. But to move to the 3rd level, one would have to work hard abit on the climbing.  But the climb is most rewarding as the place is most of the time deserted.

Strange but true coincidents

Talk Out Loud: Just came back from a holiday in Cherating... Enjoyed it...

  • As soon as you sit down to a cup of hot coffee, the boss will ask you to do something that will last till your coffee is cold.
